Our History
The city of La Romana, located on the eastern part of the Dominican Republic, is a growing community largely populated by hard working and dedicated people from the sugar mill, free zone and hotels.
In 1976, a group of concerned local women founded the Patronato Benéfico Oriental (PBO), a non-profit organization created to help the underprivileged.
In 1982, as a result of this effort, Hogar del Niño was born. Created to help the underserved children in La Romana and the surrounding communities, the organization was and still is supported by donations from individuals and businesses.
